9 Lirios

This thesis project consists of sharing testimonials and stories of latina women who have overcome social and political problems. It exposes their success of climbing the career ladder and becoming journalists, marketing strategists, CEO’s, teachers, and most importantly an inspiration to the community. This project seeks to inspire latina girls who grew up thinking they can only become what their own traditions and society tells them to become. Latina girls can identify with these inspiring women because they might look like them, or they may talk like them, or they might have been born in the same country as them. 9 Lirios is to make them dream big and to start breaking the pattern of assumptions and stereotypes society have for us, latina women.
